Glen Echo Pottery Gallery Open Saturdays & Sundays 11:00am - 4:00pm The Glen Echo Pottery Gallery is housed in a wooden yurt across from the Dentzel carousel. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am until 4 pm from April 18, 2026 through December 20, 2026 and for longer hours during some special events in the Park. The Gallery displays the work of 27 Glen Echo Echo Pottery instructors and advanced students. Examples of work can be seen on our Gallery page. |

The Alphabet of Uzbek Ornament Workshop with Master Ceramic Artist Alisher Nazirov Saturday, January 31, 2026, 10am - 3pm The Arcade Building, Glen Echo Park Glen Echo Pottery is excited to host a special workshop with Uzbek master potter Alisher Nazirov. In this immersive, hands-on experience, participants will explore a range of traditional Uzbek surface-decorating techniques. Nazirov’s work is renowned for its intricate patterns and bold color palettes, rooted in ceramic traditions that span more than 1,000 years. The workshop will begin with a presentation on Nazirov’s life and artistic practice, followed by demonstrations on unfired clay platters using engobes and oxides, including painting and sgraffito techniques. In the afternoon, participants will apply these methods themselves on unfired clay tiles, with guidance from Nazirov throughout the process. Glen Echo Pottery will provide all workshop materials, including clay tiles, oxides, and brushes. Participants should bring their own lunch. Translation services will be provided.
